Detox.

Through continued use of a substance the body builds a tolerance which can lead to a physical dependence.

At Acquiesce we are happy to arrange your detox placement for you. We arrange all aspects of the detox, this ensures a hassle-free process, providing a seamless and fluid treatment journey.

There are various types of “detox” available to facilitate the safe removal of substances from the body and to manage withdrawal symptoms.

The body becomes reliant upon the substance in order to function to some degree. Should the substance become absent, the individual will experience side effects commonly known as “withdrawal symptoms”. These symptoms can vary in type, length and severity dependent upon the type of substance and the regularity and quantity of use.

Potential Withdrawal Symptoms

Common symptoms include:

  • Anxiety
  • Low mood or mood swings
  • Nausea
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Sweating
  • Aches and pains
  • Shaking
  • Retching
  • Seizures

Detox is the first step to recovery

There are various types of “detox” available to facilitate the safe removal of substances from the body and to manage the withdrawal symptoms. Common substances that may require detox include:

  • Heroin
  • Cannabis
  • Alcohol
  • Crack
  • Amphetamine
  • NPS
  • Prescription medication
Family Support.

At Acquiesce we offer family support this includes, family psychoeducation and update calls to your loved ones.

Evidence shows that including family as part of an individual’s treatment programme can be an important factor in the effectiveness and success of their treatment.

Family support can have many benefits. It aims to provide all concerned with a greater understanding of addiction and recovery. This helps to demystify any confusion and offer clarity of a family members role and limitations within the process. It provides a recognition of current responses and provides alternatives and often more productive ways to manage issues.

Member’s Area

Once you have completed your placement at Acquiesce you will qualify to access our Member’s Area. This exclusive area is designed specifically for individuals in recovery who have experienced the transformative journey through Acquiesce. It is a vibrant platform for you to connect with others, share your joys and challenges, and celebrate the fun aspects of recovery together. This area also hosts a weekly zoom aftercare meeting.

Why Social Connection Matters

We understand the profound impact that social connections have on our well-being. Engaging with others who share similar experiences fosters a sense of belonging and support, which is crucial in maintaining a positive outlook and continuing progress in recovery. By participating in discussions, sharing stories, and connecting on a personal level, we can uplift one another and create a stronger community. Together, we can create a space that not only enhances the aftercare experience but also builds lasting connections among our community members.

Your Road to Recovery

To treat addiction effectively, Acquiesce offers a combination package which includes the 12 steps, cognitive behavioural therapy, counselling and holistic approaches such as yoga, meditation, acupuncture and physical exercise. In combination, these methods complement each other excellently.

Our 12-step program allows you to discover a new, recovery-oriented code of behaviour around which to focus, and the cognitive behavioural therapy-based treatment allows you to gain skills and resources that help you to manage your addiction day-to-day, and on a practical level, this encourages you to live by the principles set out in each of the 12 steps.

We know how difficult it is to reach out for help when suffering from addiction, and our team are here to support you on the road to recovery.

Our Treatment Centre

At Acquiesce, we provide private, residential rehabilitation, at our treatment centre, located in Bolton. Our private and comfortable accommodation offers an urban recovery model that helps you to integrate into the community during your recovery.

We aim to make the transition as smooth as possible, to mitigate these risks and increase your chances of a drug-free life moving forward.
