My daughter attended last year. Do not send your children here if they self harm as they will be discharged at 10oclok at night and the duty of care afterwards resulted in my daughter being in hospital as they refused to tell me where she had gone. Let down kept some of her possessions. Duty of care not. Still picking up the pieces don’t waste your money if mental health is involved as I was told they did not have the staff to deal with her self harming so why take her in the first place. All hope was gone let down yet again by people who promise to help them

Well I can’t say anything but good things about Acquiesce. The staff were all amazing from start to finish, Liz was my practitioner and I couldn’t have asked for anyone more well suited for me. Big shout outs to Tony, Ellie, Tina, Steve, Janine and Aidy too! All were brilliant but I loved having Danni, she was always so happy and up lifting. And on a Sunday you get the Margaret Mary experience… what a woman! Words don’t do her justice! The 28 days fully prepared me for the hard work which starts when you leave, you’re equipped with the tools, the knowledge and the advice of people previously in addiction. At the end of the day, you will only get out what you put in but if you are willing to change and want a better life going forward, there’s no better place to start that journey than Acquiecse.

I just wanted to thank you all for a truly transformative experience which wouldn’t have been possible without the absolutely magnificent help and support I have received from every single one of you at Acquiesce. When I arrived, I was lost, scared, and hopeless. Today I leave feeling happy, hopeful and most of all grateful. In short, you guys and all the peers I met along the way, have given me my life back. I know that there’s a lot of hard work ahead, but for the first time in years, I’m genuinely excited about the future. I came to Acquiesce a broken man with no hope. I was very sceptical about going to rehab because I had no idea what to expect, and I genuinely believed that nothing could work for me. Within just a couple of hours of arriving and meeting the staff and my peers, I felt at home. Everyone was so kind, warm, and welcoming. I left a week ago today and can honestly say that I believe Acquiesce has saved my life. I feel like a completely new man. This isn’t a magic pill, but if you accept the help, guidance, and support that’s on offer here, you’ll give yourself every chance of overcoming addiction. The staff are incredible and always willing to help. Any questions or concerns are met with care, understanding, and genuine compassion. I left Acquiesce with a whole new family, a renewed sense of hope, and a bright light at the end of what once felt like a very dark tunnel. Thank you for everything, guys. ❤️

I stayed at Acquiesce for 6 weeks and honestly had an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, supportive, and genuinely cared about everyone there. They created such a safe and welcoming environment, which made a huge difference during my stay. The sessions were excellent — really well run, helpful, and engaging. I felt listened to and supported throughout the whole process, and I came away with tools and confidence that have genuinely helped me. The house itself is absolutely stunning, and the rooms were always clean, tidy, and comfortable. It’s such a peaceful place to focus on recovery and wellbeing. I’m so grateful for everything the team at Acquiesce did for me and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for support in a caring and professional environment.

My experience in Acquiesce was excellent. It's by far the best treatment facility I have ever been in. The staff were great and the educational/therapeutic groups were fantastic too. I learnt so much about the nature of my addiction and how it manifests within me. Acquiesce gave me all of the tools I need to live life clean and sober. I have recently finished my 4 week program at Acquiesce rehab in Bolton and it has honestly changed my life for the better and got me out of a hole I could never see a way out of before , all the staff are so welcoming , loving and understanding people and help you in every way possible from walking through them doors even to after leaving still checking in on me , the facilities are great , the activities you do while being at the centre and the accommodation is also very nice and cosy , I’ve met some great people while being there who I can now call my friends and has started a new page in my life , I’m forever grateful for the staff at Acquiesce rehab , much love from Harrison

I knew from its reviews Aquiesce would be good, but it was so much more. It was brilliant.I’m sober, happy, contented, emotionally positive, trusted by family and friends, admired for ‘sorting myself out’ and engaging in life. I could not have achieved this without the excellent practitioners and staff whose knowledge, understanding, patient, empathy, care and devotion was to get us started on our road to recovery. Each session was aimed at preparing us for life in the real world without mind changing substances, understanding the reasons why some people suffer from the disease of addiction plus so much more invaluable information.I learned so much about myself and my addiction. I’ve made lifelong friends from my happy time at Acquiesce, sharing life stories with peers and making arrangements to meet up. I spent five weeks at Acquiesce Rehab, and it genuinely changed my life. The programme is varied, engaging, and really well-structured. The staff are not only highly professional, but also incredibly kind, supportive, and always there when you need them. I felt truly cared for every step of the way. They also supported me through my ADHD diagnosis and kept my mum updated throughout my treatment, which meant so much to both of us. A huge part of my journey was the people I met there — the peer support made such a difference and helped me feel understood and never alone. Having been to multiple rehabs, I can say with absolute certainty that Acquiesce was the best by far. Their more relaxed approach to both educating you on the brain and body, alongside teaching you tools and coping mechanisms to maintain sobriety is both unique and interesting. You never repeat the same session twice, and this keeps the days fresh and exciting. The staff are incredibly friendly and will always be there for you, whether you are struggling or of you simply have a question or a request. The house in which you stay is kept to a really high standard, the rooms are large and comfortable, big double beds and a large kitchen, large sitting room and even a nice garden. It really does become a home away from home. The sessions are always run in an organised and well thought out way, you'll find you take something away from each session. Most importantly for me, Acquiesce is the place that actually got me clean and for that I will be forever grateful.

I attended Acquiesce Rehab for 30 days in November 2025. When I entered the rehab, I was broken, and could not break the cycle of drinking and using, even though I attended fellowships, had a sponsor, had written warnings from work for not showing up, and was losing relationships with friends and family - nothing I tried to do to stop seemed to work. This week, I celebrated being 5 months clean and sober from drugs and alcohol. Acquiesce provided me with the tools and knowledge to go back into the real world and tackle the disease of addiction that I have head on. There isn't a magic cure for my illness, and Acquiesce doesn't have a magic wand to wave over you and make everything better, but they give you the foundations to be able to go out there and rebuild your life step by (12) step. I genuinely cannot thank the team at Acquiesce enough. The support, guidance, conversations and laughs provided by everyone there, including my practitioner, Simon, is something I will forever be grateful for. Tom

Acquiesce I was very reluctant to go at first, I was more worried about sharing a house with other people with different addictions to me. How wrong was I I was made to feel welcome from the minute I arrived by all the staff, then introduced to everyone in addiction and the people I met were amazing we all got on really well and I believe I've made friends for life. We sat at night talking about our addictions, watching TV and eating together. I'm so happy I went, I've conquered my demons with the help of all my peers and most of all the amazing patient understanding and calming influence of the staff at Acquiesce. Thank you so much to everyone for the help and support we all received. xx

I have just completed an excellent 5 weeks experience with Acquiesce Rehab. From the very beginning, all the staff were professional, compassionate, and truly committed to my recovery. The practitioners took the time to understand my specific needs and we worked a plan that made a real difference in my progress. The facility itself is clean, welcoming, and very well-equipped, which made every visit comfortable and stress-free. The only rehab ever to have received 2 outstanding ratings from ofsted and it's fully understandable 👏 the staff are exceptionally helpful and not just the practioners also including bank staff I originally planned on doing 28 days but due to quality of service and progress I made mentally physically and spiritually I decided to extend another 14 days and then another 7 days as I had a lot of work to do due to the damage I had inflicted on myself through using cocain.The lifetime after care is fantastic and the 49 days I spent there were the most important thing I have ever done in my life or ever will do.I had depression and ptsd after losing my parents in a short period of time and having flashbacks of finding my father dead on the night I had one of those flashbacks it was a massive comfort to know that staff are on call all through the night to speak with and be offered guidance and loving support.Whilst at the treatment centre if ever you had a feeling of discomfort or anxiety etc you was allowed to excuse yourself and go and talk it through with a member of staff then rejoin the session when you was ready without any pressure.Each member of staff brings something different to the game they each have there own unique qualities and way of delivering a session which I really enjoyed and and it was also great that most had been through recovery thereselves.The fact they only accepted 12 people at a time was good because it meant a more personal touch individually and the wide choice of holistic therapies and sessions meant even if someone didn't enjoy 1 there was a wide selection and I loved the Reike and acupuncture but yoga wasn't for me.I will finish this review saying outstanding by ofsted outstanding by Steven Isherwood 💙 thank you from the bottom of my heart you will always have my love thanks and gratitude 🙏

What stood out to me most about Acquiesce is how supportive they are toward partners. As someone who has supported a loved one through addiction, I felt understood rather than overlooked. Acquiesce acknowledges the emotional weight partners carry without blaming or simplifying their role. I was reassured through honesty—showing that patience, confusion, strength, and love can all exist at the same time. Acquiesce gave me the support I needed throughout my husband's stay with them. Having someone to talk to regularly about his progress and mine and my families concerns and feelings was invaluable. I felt able to broach any subject with Liz, and her responses were always without judgement and with kindness and understanding. The team at Acquiesce are all amazing! They all truly care and genuinely want the best for you and are there to support you during your stay & afterwards. Id tried a number of times to do it myself with meetings and different drug therapists & even hypnotherapy but none of them worked for me. Im now 5 weeks sober, 1 week out of acquiesce and ive never felt better. The support you get from your peers is amazing too & im still in touch with a few of them. Its the best decision i ever made to go here - if your struggling, pick up the phone to here, you wont regret it. The accommodation and the hub are both really nice places also.

I cannot put into words what an amazing place Acquiese is. I went in completely broken, my addiction to alcohol having brought me to my knees. From the admissions process to my leaving day, I felt supported, understood and genuinely cared for. All the staff, each and everyone, have the clients best interests at heart. The sessions are a wonderful insight into addiction and have given me tools to navigate life without alcohol, and just life in general. They offer more aftercare than most rehabs I have come across, and you still feel supported when you have left the relative security of Acquiese. I honestly cannot recommend highly enough. My time at Acquiesce was life changing! I walked through the doors still thinking there was no hope for me . The staff here are amazing , they go out of their way to make you feel safe and welcome . Liz did my admission and was lovely and kind. Simon was my practitioner and I could not of asked for better , he had a way of explaining things so I understood the disease of addiction. Lesley was always lovely to me and checked if I was ok regularly . Ian did some great sessions and was always understanding and patient if I was having an off day . I remember on my first week I had a cold and Ady who is the owner went out of his way to get me some cough sweets. Everyone is so caring . Ellie always had a big smile which cheered you up. The accommodation was very nice and comfortable. Acquiesce gave me the key to unlock that glass box I had been trapped in for so long and changed my life. Thank you to all the staff for changing my life for the better , I will never forget you all 🙏❤️

They didn’t just do their jobs; they genuinely cared. The programme itself was explained with such clarity that, even in my vulnerable state, I felt reassured and supported. Every step, every session, and every part of the process was laid out in a way that made me feel safe and informed. The staff were patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly encouraging, helping me understand not only the “what” but the “why” behind everything we did. The facilities at Acquiesce were excellent , clean, calming, and thoughtfully designed to create a sense of peace. The homes were comfortable and welcoming, offering a sense of stability during a time when everything inside me felt unstable. It truly felt like a home away from home, which made all the difference during my recovery. By the time I left, I felt uplifted, grounded, and full of life again. The transformation I experienced at Acquiesce is something I will carry with me forever. I walked in broken, but I walked out with hope, strength, and a renewed sense of who I am. I can’t thank Acquiesce enough. The staff, the programme, the environment—it all played a crucial role in helping me rebuild myself. I am beyond grateful for the 28 days I spent at Acquiesce. What you quickly realise is the staff truly care, and it isn’t just a job to them. Whilst there is cleverly thought through daily structure and routine, your journey and relationships with the staff will be bespoke. Simon was my practitioner and is a calm, genuine man. I felt fully comfortable opening up about my alcohol/drug use, and particularly personal aspects of my life before/during addiction. Simon isn’t trying to “tick a box” during your 121 conversations and really wants to understand your personal circumstances. The thing that makes Simon stand out is he clearly is extremely experienced and knows his stuff. This isn’t to take away from how great the other staff are. Leslie, Ellie, Ian, Carla, Tina and several others are wonderful souls. One other mention is the spiritual and self love aspect of the program. Margarat Mary brings a whole other perspective and I always looked forward to her taking the group class. Margarat Mary lifted the group spirits every week and her energy is infectious. I am not a spiritual person and went into rehab very skeptical I would lean into it, but this was the beauty of my time there. An inspirational lady through and through. Most importantly, You are provided with the tools to live in recovery. 28 days flew by and I was truly sad to be leaving as I enjoyed myself, which is a testament to Acquiesce. As much as I wanted to seek help, it’s incredibly daunting and it’s natural to feel like 28 days is giving your life away. Nobody judges you there and the stigma around rehab I felt before going to rehab quickly evaporates once you arrive. For me and many other people, the treatment you receive in rehab can determine future life or death. I can hand on heart say it’s worth putting your trust in Acquiesce. Thank you so much!

My brother recently entered the Acquiesce Rehab Centre in Bolton. He had a 28 day stay and the transformation in him has not only been life changing, it has been life saving. The team are very understanding and empathetic and have been amazing. A special mention to Simon Arkwright who has been AMAZING! He is one of the recovery practitioners who supported my brother with his 1-1 sessions, Simon is a specialist in his field and we genuinely feel very grateful that we had him in our corner. When I walked into Acquiesce, I was nervous, uncertain and desperate. The experience starts when you make the first call, as you're booked in for a phone consultation to ensure the rehab is a right fit for your needs. A start date is given, but can sometimes be bought forward due to space. The centre keeps you fully updated on this so you’re never left in limbo. A practitioner (mine was Ellie) will call you regularly before to ensure you’re doing okay before you go in. I was greeted by Lesley on my first day who undertook an extensive screening to ensure I was okay to be there. The most nerve racking part is walking into the whole group - but trust me when I say this is hardest part, as 10 minutes later you feel welcomed, accepted and appreciated. The rehab includes holistic, physical and class room based sessions to educate, prepare and support clients to be ready for a life without alcohol. Many staff are in recovery themselves and those who aren’t, are incredibly aware and knowledgeable. The one thing everyone at Acquiesce has in common is a genuine desire to help people in their early recovery. Without acquiesce, I’ve no idea where I’d be, but it certainly wouldn’t be as in nearly as positive a place as I am now. Thank you - and take the leap. You won’t regret it for a second.

I checked into acquiesce reluctantly at first I must admit as I was in denial, but from the moment I walked through the door I felt safe and welcomed by the staff and my peers , I was understandably nervous as I didn’t know what to expect, but I soon settled in to my new routine and living arrangements . The sessions were an invaluable start to my recovery and I learnt so much about addiction, both formally and informally. As well as workshops and sessions we were also offered yoga, meditation, acupuncture and reiki, that was as well as a trip to the park and to the guy once a week. I didn’t realise how much my addiction had affected my family and am forever grateful to them for their love and support, just one of the many other things acquiesce taught me how to navigate. Without acquiesce , the amazing staff and my peers , some of whom will be friends for life because of everything we have shared I would not be where I am today, living a happy sober life , I know it’s a long road as this change is for life , but with all the support and ‘tools ‘ I have been given ‘I’ve got this ‘ it has NOT got me anymore. Checking into acquiesce was honestly the best things I could ever have done to start my recovery and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a positive change. Picking up the phone and admitting myself into Acquiesce was the best starting point of my recovery by far. I attended Acquiesce in the summer of 2025 after many unsuccessful attempts to stop drinking and experiencing several relapses. While I won’t go into the details of my drinking/addiction history—since it’s similar to the stories of many people living with addiction—I knew I needed to give myself the best chance of change. I felt a little apprehensive about going, but I also knew I had to approach my four-week stay with determination and a willingness to learn. The experience was both challenging and rewarding. Sharing accommodation with people I had never met before, while taking responsibility for cooking, cleaning etc. was a big adjustment. Looking back, I see how valuable this was for my healing—helping me stay grounded, connected, and better prepared to return to everyday life. Even though I was out of my comfort zone, my housemates and everybody welcomed me warmly and created a real sense of community and support. I cannot praise the staff at Acquiesce highly enough. I won’t mention individuals because every member of the team contributed to my journey. They were caring, compassionate, and committed to equipping me for recovery and long-term wellbeing. The staff treated me with respect, not as just another patient, and always made me feel safe, heard, and supported. The structured program—including one-on-one sessions, group work and daily activities—provided me with tools I continue to use in my everyday life. As I write this, I am three months into my recovery. I’ve been following my ‘Relapse Prevention Plan’ closely, using it to manage risks, apply new skills, and stay consistent with AA meetings. Completing and updating the plan has been invaluable, especially since leaving rehab. While recovery is a deeply personal journey, I cannot overstate how important Acquiesce has been in giving me renewed purpose. I left with more confidence, hope, and gratitude than I’ve felt in a long time. I now fully accept that I am an addict and always will be—but I also know I have the tools with a renewed determination to live a healthy and happy life with my family, free from alcohol and substances. For the first time in years, I believe I can move forward with faith and belief.

If I could give you a million stars I would. Words can not express my gratitude for this place, the owners and the staff! Every single person involved in Acquiesce are my Hero's and have performed a minor miracle on me. I recently left this rehab facility after admitting myself for a 28 day program and I am now 50 days clean and Sober. That my not seem a lot but let me tell you that I could not go a day without using, in fact, if I was awake I was using cocaine and drinking Alcohol. The work that these guys put in not only teaches you the tools required to resist the temptations but the knowledge to think differently and be more in touch with yourself that you don't actually ever want to pick up. I have never been happier, I am the most clean I have been in over 28 years and to be honest I could right a essay on why Acquiesce should be anyone's first choice when it comes to a rehab facility and getting yourself clean. What can I say! This place is phenomenal, very well run, lovely comfortable housing, sessions are all very informal, learning more and more everyday and great tools to cope, even some fun sessions thrown in to break it up, all the staff are magnificent and will do everything to help, this place has definitely been a big part in changing my life for the better, highly recommend!

i didnt know what to expect when i admitted myself to rehab, but i can safely say that i was blown away by acquiesce. The program itself, the kindness and professionalism of the staff, the amenities - everything was top notch! Trusting acquiesce to guide me through the first steps of my recovery was one of the best decisions ive ever made, it will always hold a place in my heart. I stayed at Acquiesce for 28 days and it honestly saved my life. The team are amazing - always going above and beyond and nothing is too much for them. The programme was catered to everyone’s needs and I loved the holistic side of it - yoga, reiki, acupuncture and massages. We also attended a lovely gym once a week where I could relax in the sauna. The aftercare offered is exceptional and I felt at ease leaving treatment knowing I had the support from Acquiesce and their phone numbers. The groups are small and everyone is encouraged to take part. I loved every minute even though I was at such a low upon admission. In the nicest way possible, I hope I don’t come back but for whoever is reading this review, look no further!

I have recently completed 6 weeks at Acquiesce treatment centre, wow it has truly saved my life. The whole experience was bitter sweet, but the BEST 6 weeks. Going to try mention the points I was most worried about / curious in hopes it helps someone. General: As a 23year old I was very anxious about coming to the treatment centre for numerous reasons, one being ‘ I won’t get on with 50 year old alcoholics’ (( prejudice of me, but I ironically i am friends with those ‘50 yr old alcoholics’ and I'm so grateful that i am <3)) The fellowship doesn’t discriminate and neither does addiction Just wanted to mention that for anyone younger with similar concerns. I have made some genuine life long connections which is something I really worried about not being able to do and coming back out to life with no one who understands me. The community within Acquiesce and the fellowship is unexplainable, in the most amazing way. It is like one big supportive family including the staff. It’s a huge step to take seeking help and I believe Acquiesce is the place to do it. We researched numerous treatment centres around the UK with various cost, and chose here due to the reviews, they speak for themselves. I’ve found my spark & confidence, other people will see it in you and you will feel it if you follow the programme and are willing. Staff/Peers: I went into treatment thinking the staff aren’t going to be able to relate and they’re just there to do a job & get paid… it couldn’t be further from the truth. They genuinely care about you and your recovery, I didn’t feel judged or dismissed at any point. The sessions are done in a way where you don’t feel like you’re back at school in a classroom. The thoughts or feelings that feel insane, they won’t bat an eyelid nor will your peers. Whenever & wherever they can, they will help you, as well as having a laugh with you. Be forever grateful for all of them and can’t wait to see them again when I can come in for my 6+ month talk :) Treatment: The days don’t feel too long, 10am to 3.30pm. There’s 3 breaks in-between to break up the day. They offer CBT & SMART recovery sessions, some naturally you’ll engage with more than others, some will be more emotional for you than others. Lots of handouts & workbooks are given so you can refer back and re-visit. The more science based sessions with Simon are very interesting, they are shared in a way that gives you enough knowledge on it without it being over baring & too much to not understand. Those are the ones i find myself thinking back on whilst in recovery, the physical effects it had on me. There is the right balance of Holistic therapies; Reiki, Acupuncture, Yoga, massage & meditation. I enjoyed all the above and continue practicing more during my recovery. Such an eye opening time, a lot of it I am introducing into the peoples around me lives too. Residential: Houses are in a different location from the treatment centre. Good spaces, big communal areas. Basic supplies provided. Shopping twice a week, Mondays & Thursdays, cash needed but can go to cash machines the day before. Comfy clothes, and something with a hood / coat for the walks on Sundays in case it rains. I could go on. A lovely place to be, in a very hard but powerful period of your life. Thank you Acquiesce for helping shape me into the women I am becoming, gifting me best friends and a new way of life 🙏

Can’t thank Acquiesce enough, all the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Every practitioner went above and beyond to help you whilst in rehab. I would highly recommend anyone that’s struggling, doesn’t know which way to turn. To book into Acquiesce. The maximum number of peers would be 12. So the care is very personalised. I have learnt so much in the 28 days I was there, and made some livelong friends. I am so grateful for everything they did to help me on my first leg of my journey ti recovery.

Acquiesce saved my life. I was in the darkest place on earth, swallowed by addiction. I had lost all hope, I'd tried everything to get better on my own and failed every time. I am now 44 days clean and sober and the happiest I have been in 16 years, and it's all thanks to Acquiesce. The moment I walked through the doors, I took a big breathe outwards because these people have got your back. The practitioners in this centre are the most caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and inspirational people I have ever met. Each one brings a unique quality to the program, qualities that will help bring you back to who you were meant to be. The sessions are well thought out, engaging, and I'd even say fun! I had a great time at rehab; there were tears but there was also laughter and a real sense of community. There is plenty on offer for mental health and body treatments such as yoga, meditation, reiki, massage and acupuncture - all held by professionals in their field and I loved each one - very beneficial. The housing is clean, spacious, and a real home from home. The garden is a great space to get some air and just have a minute to yourself or sit with your new friends. I'd like to tell anyone reading this right now who is thinking about going to Acquiesce for their treatment; do it! Acquiesce changed my life for the better. If you work hard and give your all to the program, then they will change your life too. It will be the best experience of your life, I promise. Thank you Acquiesce, you saved me in every way possible. My life is full of joy because of you, I will be eternally grateful.
