Why Travel to Bolton from Cambridge for Rehab?

Greater Privacy

A common reason many people do not seek the right kind of help for an addiction is because they are afraid of what others may think about them if they found out they were attending a rehab.

Although it is important to fight the stigma surrounding addiction, we understand that many individuals aren’t yet ready to make their addiction public, which is why travelling to a residential rehabilitation centre in Bolton may be a better idea than attending a local one in Cambridge.

By doing this, the individual can relax in the knowledge that they are far less likely to bump into someone they know and won’t have to worry about explaining their current situation, allowing them to focus better on their recovery.

It’s Harder To Walk Away

Whilst rehab shouldn’t feel like a prison, it’s important for the individual to stay and complete the whole programme in order to maximise their chances of a smooth recovery.

By travelling away for rehab, it makes it more difficult to leave before completing treatment, leading to a more successful recovery.

Allows Time For Families To Heal

It’s important to remember that drug and alcohol addiction doesn’t just affect the individual but their family and friends too. By going away for rehabilitation, the family is given some much needed space to heal or come to terms with the individual’s addiction.

Drug and Alcohol Detox for Individuals from Cambridge

If the addiction is substance based, it is crucial for the addictive substance to be safely removed from the body before undergoing the rehabilitation programme.

This is why as part of our treatment, Acquiesce facilitates the safe removal of substances from the body through detoxification, helping to manage the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that follow.

Common substances that may require detox include:

  • Heroin
  • Cannabis
  • Alcohol
  • Crack
  • Amphetamine
  • NPS
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Prescription medication

We know that each patient that enters our rehab has their own unique set of circumstances and needs regarding their addiction that require different methods of detox.

That’s why we undertake a full assessment of each individual’s circumstances and needs before arranging your detoxification placement.

Drug, Alcohol and Gambling Addiction Rehab for Individuals from Cambridge

Once the detox process has been completed and the addictive substance has successfully been removed from the body, the rehabilitation programme can begin. (Please note: Treatment for gambling addictions can begin straight away without the need for detox.)

At Acquiesce, we know that an addiction develops after a substance or behaviour is used for a prolonged period in order to cope with something in their lives, whether that be depression, anxiety, grief or another external factor that has taken a hit on their mental wellbeing, such as a job loss or divorce.

For long-term success, it is vital to give individuals the skills necessary to resist and overcome any temptations in the future. This is where our programme comes in.

The Programme

Our goal is to deliver the most effective addiction treatment in quality, accessibility and cost.

We pride ourselves on offering a high level of focused, individual treatment to no more than 6 residential individuals at any one time, providing a high quality service at a low cost in an environment which encourages recovery.

We use a combination treatment programme which incorporates the 12 steps and cognitive behavioural therapy interventions, having found this approach to be the most effective in attaining long lasting recovery results.

The 12 steps allows you to discover a new recovery focused code of behaviour in which to live by.

The cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based approaches provide skills and resources to allow you to treat their addiction day to day on a practical level, which in turn supports you to live by your new recovery focused code of behaviour.

We also provide one-to-one sessions with our recovery practitioners and other skill-based therapies supported by our team of recovery experts.

Our Accommodation

  • Luxury, spacious single occupancy rooms with double beds. Some rooms offer en suites or there are bathrooms shared by a maximum of one other person.
  • Maintained garden area.
  • Spacious living area and kitchen with all modern amenities, pots, pans and crockery. All you need to do is purchase the food and cook it.
  • Housekeeping service.

Addiction can have a widespread and rippling effect and often has the greatest impact on those closest to the individual with the addiction.

The effects of addiction on family units and significant others can be devastating and lead to a variety of issues including:

  • Financial strain
  • Emotional pain
  • Feelings of betrayal
  • Breakdown of relationships
  • Anger
  • Anxiety, stress and depression

At Acquiesce we provide a range of family support to individuals in Cambridge that includes family psychoeducation and update calls to your loved ones.

We do this because evidence shows that involving family as part of the treatment programme can be an important factor in the effectiveness and success of their treatment.

Family support can have many benefits and aims to provide all concerned with a greater understanding of addiction and recovery.

This helps to demystify any confusion and offer clarity around a family member’s role and limitations within the process.
