About Me

I’m Lesley, a full-time Support Worker here at Acquiesce and a bank Appropriate Adult, supporting children and vulnerable adults during police interviews in custody suites. My passion lies in welfare and human connection — I find deep meaning in helping people navigate challenging times and reconnect with what matters most.

Experience & Qualifications

My work is driven by a genuine desire to support others with care, presence, and encouragement. I’m continually developing my knowledge and skills, holding qualifications in Counseling Skills (Level 3), Trauma-Informed Practice, Mental Health Ambassadorship, and I’m a new qualified SMART recovery facilitator. I’m also trained in Yoga, Boxing, and Personal Training, blending movement and mindfulness into my personal and professional life.

Interests

Outside of work, I love the balance between adventure and comfort. You’ll often find me hiking, camping, or cold-water dipping in lakes with friends — but equally at home, cooking, reading non-fiction, journaling, playing card games with my family, or bouncing on my mini trampoline for a burst of joy and energy. Yoga and comedy are my daily reset buttons.

Fun Fact

What I love most about working at Acquiesce is witnessing the return of connection — when clients begin to rebuild relationships with loved ones, their peers, and most beautifully, with themselves.

Favourite thing about working at Acquiesce

To watch and support an individual go from the lost, lonely and fearful place of addiction into a journey of recovery with a new and regained sense of hope, self-worth and direction is so rewarding and an honour and privilege to be a part of.

I truly believe that provided with the right environment and the correct therapeutic support and guidance that any individual can move from the darkness of addiction into the light of recovery and live and enjoy life to their full potential
